Beautiful Florence, Italy. The colors of Tuscany are what inspired me in this website. Sunflower fields, vineyards, and olive groves line the way from Pisa to Florence. I have been many places, however, Florence has a special place in my heart. The people are beautiful, the food was divine, the Tuscan wines impressive, and a city full of history and art. It has only been since July but I long to go back.

Michelangelo's Tomb located in the Church of Santa Croce.

The view from our hotel balcony which overlooks the Duomo and Giotto's Belltowev along with the famous clock tower of the Palazzo Vecchio.

The Cathedral, Santa Maria del Fiore. Work on this grandiose structure was started in 1296. The dome of the Cathedral inspired Michelangelo to construct the dome of St. Peter's in Rome. This place was huge!!! It is 114 meters high and 4552 meters in diameter.

The Ponte Vecchio. This is the oldest bridge in Florence, built in 972. Can you imagine? It is lined with shops assigned to gold and silversmiths but was originally assigned to butchers. One evening out, we crossed the bridge and listened to the beautiful sounds of a violin playing classical pieces by one of the locals. How romantic. You HAVE to see this place.

Here it is!! The beauty of the Tuscan countryside. Breath-taking.
